About Sensei
![]() Sensei Sid Castaneda At a young age Sensei Castaneda realized that one style of martial arts would not be effective against all forms of attack. So he started learning as much as he could from as many people who would teach him. Sensei Castaneda has studied from some of the top Martial Artists in the world and is now a very accomplished Martial Artist and instructor himself. He has black belt rank in several different Martial Art systems. Sensei has studied Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo, Arnis / Kali / Eskrima, Kenpo Karate, Shootfighting, Muay Thai, San Soo Gung Fu, Judo, Jujitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Wrestling and Boxing. He has been practicing martial arts for over 20 years now. Sensei Castaneda studied Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo under Hanshi Bruce Juchnik (22nd inheritor of Kosho Ryu Kempo from James M. Mitose). He studied the Filipino Stick and Knife Arts under Guro George Santana. What Hanshi and Guro has taught him has also enhanced all the other forms of martial arts Sensei has learned throughout the years. He realized that it is not about how many techniques you know. It's about understanding natural law. Your body can only move in its natural way. If you understand this, it doesn't matter what techniques you use. They all can be very effective. When he is not busy singing/performing or producing, Sensei is still trying to learn as much as he can, even though Sensei no longer competes. He says, "You do not want to develop a prejudice to one art, they all have there strengths and weaknesses. One arts weakness can be another arts strength. Use what is useful to you and always look for the Similarities among the Arts". Sensei Castaneda is a member of The Sei Kosho Shorei Kai International and The Martial Arts Collective Society. Sensei has learned so much from Hanshi and Guro and will be forever grateful to them for their wisdom, guidance, and for teaching him their art. Hanshi Bruce Juchnik is the 22nd He serves as the Director of the Sei Hanshi also serves as the President
